A Few Fun Moves for happy & healthy shoulders 😎

Mobilize:

〰️T-Spine Twists
〰️ Upper Body Rolls
〰️ Scapula Push-Ups

Stabilize:

〰️ Side Planks
〰️ Plank Shoulder Taps

Strengthen:

〰️ Prone Y Reaches
〰️ Weighted Rows

Shoulders are pretty dang cool! They are categorized as the same type of joint as our hips (ball & socket). Unlike our hips, the shoulder joint allows for a much wider range of motion. Imagine if you could move your hips around the same way you move your shoulders!? It would be next to impossible for us to walk, run, and bike with that much range of motion in our hips.

This extra range of motion in our shoulders that allows us a wide variety of movements like overhead reaching, rotation, and throwing can often times lead to acute and/or overuse injuries. In all of the AFFM workouts, I like to take the time to properly mobilize, and stabilize our shoulders before doing any upper bodywork. Hence why you will always see some sort of thoracic spine mobilization, and plank variation before any upper bodywork!
